It’s your decision what you do, but if you choose to let them go through themselves they may not make it out alive. That’s how it goes down. Now is that really what you want on your hands? Anybody can be a hero and sometimes it doesn’t even take that much to make that happen. Imagine a life being saved because of your voice. Don’t make the same mistake I made.

I don’t like talking about my OxyContin abuse. I guess that’s how it is for most ex-addicts: The past is dark, uncomfortable, certainly not the kind of place you’d want to hang around any longer than you absolutely had to. My eighteen months as an OxyContin addict were the worst eighteen months of my life. I was broken, by the end.
